Ton 'O Questions
Hi guys. Remember me? Winner of the biggest amount of questions? (Check the archives.) I have a few various questions. 1. Dosen't it seem like Archie is taking the Sonic comic storyline for the worst? King acorn's legs have been paralyzed, Nate Morgan doomed, Mina crashing in between Sonic and Sally, Knuckles turning into a dark legionair, and so much more. Is anything good ever going to happen?
2. Whats with the "SOAP" logo all over city escape in SA2? Just what is "SOAP"?
3. Why is it Sonic and Shadow are the only characters who get complete BGM tracks in SA2? When I try to play their Songs in the options screen, Sonic and Shadow's songs are complete and end, while Tails, Knuckles, Eggman, and Rouge's songs are just the first verse going on forever? I know they have more. I heard more to Knuckles theme when he completed the master emerald after the fight with Rouge. Whats up with that?
4. Why is Robotnik calling himself "Eggman" in SA2. I thought that was insulting him.
5. In SA2, What did Sonic give to Rouge in the last scene of the Last story?
6. How come some sounds in SA2, like when a character gets caught by a ghost or when they pick up things, are undubbed and are still in japanese?
7. What use do Knuckles and Rouge's sunglasses upgrade have? I have tried them in every mission and can't see a difference.
8. Why did SEGA make Amy a guest star and secret 2p character instead of a full time character in SA2? -CTLinde
1. They are currently working on dramatics so there probably isn't going to be anything good for awhile, especially with all the different stories coming in.
2. SOAP is a shoe company that gave SEGA the info on grinding, they are also the type of shoes Sonic wears, because of that SOAP gets free advertising in the game.
I'm pretty sure that SOAP paid Sega for the advertising. In the preview version of SA2, Sonic used his regular shoes, and you can see them in the intro movie. Apparently, Sega saw a good opportunity for product placement with the grind move and SOAP bought the "ad" of having Sonic wear them as well as the ads in the various level. So consider Sonic the first video game character with a shoe contract. ;) - Vec
3. The songs are made to repeate for most of the tracks, why they did this is still a mystery however they won't be like that on the soundtrack hopefully.
4. It's due to the mouth movements, SoA doesn't have time to go back and reprogram the entire game so that the mouths fit exactly with english. Robotnik is a three syllable word and Eggman is only two, Eggman fit better and that's what SoJ calls him so SoA had to go along.
"Eggman" and various Egg names have been used throughout the games. It's definitely a name he uses for himself. The idea of "Eggman as a nickname" is actually new to the Adventure series, and an attempt to fit the English and Japanese versions together. So, storywise, you could either say that he named himself that, or that he used the insult as a nickname as a form of ironic protest. ;) - Vec
5. I'm not exactly sure on that, I never saw him give anything to her, I'll have to recheck.
6. SoA probably didn't have enough time to go back and dub everything in English before having to release the game. So they got the important things down and left stuff like that.
7. They are used on hard mode to get to some of the emeralds, while they are on, extra objects like springs and extra capsules appear in certain areas.
8. More than likely she didn't fit into the story line and Sonic Team probably didn't want to have to come up with a counter part for her and then try and work both of them into the story.
