Amy Rose entered the comic as Robotnik’s prisoner and nearly left the next issue to become a premature version of the Cybernik, however a reluctant Sonic rescued her with only seconds to spare. She was locked up for claiming to be Sonic’s girlfriend and when she joined the Freedom Fighters she and Sonic were forced to make an agreement.

Self sacrificing and one of the few members of the gang with a cool head Amy became extremely close to Sonic when they were stuck together on the Miracle Planet for a month, even though he spent most of the time hiding from her. When they got back down to Mobius she gradually began to grow and become more independent. She practiced with the crossbow and soon became proficient enough to fend for herself. She became a tutor and mentor to tails, good friend of Tekno the Canary and although perhaps an equal to Sonic, although she liked him too much to ever take any of his glory. When Sonic was stranded in the special zone she became the leader of the freedom fighters but even her cool demeanour was shaken by Shortfuse. After the fall of Robotnik she slowly developed more of a tomboy attitude and changed from the small girl she had originally been to a mature teenager, befriending Tekno. The pair of them travelled the universe with the Eternity Ring, fighting for justice.

The Black Asteroid was once the biggest gemstone mine on Mobius which somehow ended up in the Special Zone. All that’s left is the ancient tunnel shafts that litter the asteroid around a central platform. When Super Sonic was stuck in the Omni Viewer Chaotix decided to try and seal him away in the Black Asteroid and use a Gravitron Bomb to close of the entrance.

Unfortunately when Super Sonic realised what was going on he had no intention of waiting and instead he started to heat up his surroundings, when the Omni Viewer released him to escape the Black Asteroid became a sort of second sun, heated to millions of degrees, soon to explode. However the scientific group Equinox also discovered that when it exploded it would release an Electromagnetic Pulse, every computer system on the planet would be disabled, hospitals would shut down and aeroplanes would crash, the banking system would fail. Sonic came up with the idea of sending the Black Asteroid to Mobius where the Electromagnetic Pulse would destroy Robotnik’s Empire. The Omni Viewer complied, sent the Black Asteroid to Mobius where it exploded harmlessly, releasing Super Sonic and an Electromagnetic Pulse onto Robotnik.

“600 years ago the folk of Mobius lived in separate tribes, at the time it was ruled over by King Leer a hyena who delighted in torturing the other tribes. In those days the different people were reluctant to help each other but they soon learnt that the Hyenas didn’t care who they overrode. However one rebel was willing to stand up to King Leer! Sonic’s ancestor, Bravehog, leader of the hedgehog tribe. When King Leer sent his Hyenas to the Fox Tribe Bravehog appeared at the last moment and fought off the Hyenas. Unfortuantely the foxes weren’t willing to help Bravehog and fled as more Hyenas arrived and captured him. Soon after King Leer arrived and proposed to shave of his spikes for his disobedience however Bravehog’s final speech to the people was so inspirational that the other nations banded together to help save him. United the Tribes soon fought back, inspired by Bravehog’s battle cry. From that day the people of Mobius Lived together…”

600 years later Sonic retold that very story to a masked man fleeing from badniks who wanted to know where Sonic got his nerve from, Sonic replied that it was “In the blood!” Sonic was rightly proud of his ancestors but the Hyena who unmasked himself couldn't say the same. However Sonic consoled the Hyena, it wasn’t his fault his "ancestors were deadheads".

The first Metallix was built to defeat Sonic by matching his speed and durability. But Sonic managed to beat him thanks to ingenious use of the Time Stones and a lot of luck. Robotnik quickly realised more would be needed, he could defeat Sonic with sheer numbers and quickly commissioned a special plant to be built in the special zone.

They were first noticed by Knuckles and the Chaotix when they rescued the Omni Viewer from them, although not until after the Emperor had created a copy. Not long later the Brotherhood broke into Robotnik's capitol and kidnapped Grimer, going independent from Rrobotnik. Robotnik sent Sonic to deal with them but the hedgehog was too late to stop them travelling to the Miracle Planet with the Alpha Device, intent on recreating the world in their image. Sonic, Amy, Johnny and Porker all headed up the Chain to the Miracle Planet to stop them. After destroying one Metallix through its weak point, the neck, Porker reprogrammed the machine to take Sonic, Amy and Johnny as hostages and then self destruct with the Alpha Device, destroying most of the Metallixes. Porker reprogrammed the Alpha Device and slowly the ground around the device began to return to normal. However as they left Porker noticed the Emperor was still alive, albeit without his flying base and was crawling towards the Alpha device. He ran back down to the Miracle Planet to stop it and then faded from sight as the Miracle Planet disappeared.

The Brootherhood used their copy of the Omni Viewer to rewrite history so there had never been a Doctor Robotnik, but they still existed since it was Grimer who had designed and created them. Sonic and the Chaotix travelled back in time to correct that fault, putting Robotnik back in charge of the planet and returning home. Then the brotherhood turned on Robotnik’s base, explaining the real reason they wanted the dictator dead. He, not Grimer, had been the only one with any sense to put a deactivation code in the Metallixes, in case they ever turned on him. Now he was back he deactivated them and swore that he would never build an intelligent robot again.
