    Bartleby - Debut: Wedding Bell Blues (Sonic SU Character)
    "What song? Oh wonderful. You drag me to the bowels of the city to hear imaginary music! How could it get any better?"

    Bartleby is probably the most important character in Sonic Underground who isn’t part of the main cast, unlike Sonic, Manic and Sonia he refuses to travel around fighting Robotnik but he isn’t part of Robotnik’s evil schemes either. He stands directly in the middle, a close friend of Sonia who would probably quite like to marry her purely for the status in society but until Sonia comes to the throne he hedges his bets and refuses to oppose Robotnik in public. Bartleby has a mutual hatred with Sonic and Manic, and his relationship with Sonia is testing at times, especially as in her absence he continues to flirt with every other eligible woman in Robotropolis. Although he has a decent heart and secretly hates Robotnik, Bartleby does little to help the resistance unless he can get something in return or Sonia forces his hands. If the Queen ever returned Bartleby promises that he would be the first to join her retinue, but until she does he remains squarely neutral with equal contempt for both sides but kept in place by the wealth and money he so dearly loves.

    Knuckles - Debut: Friend or Foe (Sonic SU Character)
    Sonic Underground’s one claim to fame, before Sonic X, was that it was the only cartoon with Knuckles in. Well, for four or so episodes anyway, but he made a lasting impression. Like every other Knuckles this one was initially duped by Sleet and Dingo (not Robotnik????? Well it was his idea) into believing that Sonic Underground were on their way to steal his Chaos Emerald. Later Knuckles returned when Robotnik had found another Chaos Emerald to power his flying fortress and despite warnings from his grandfather that this was a bad move Knuckles abandoned his home to help his friends. Unfortunately Knuckles’ expertise wasn’t quite up to the job and he reluctantly sold Sonic out to Robotnik in order to save Mobius. Naturally Robotnik double crossed him and the situation was resolved. In the end Knuckles returned to the Floating Island, with a bit of a crush on Sonia.

    Manic the Hedgehog - Debut: Wedding Bell Blues (Sonic SU Character)
    Manic the Hedgehog is Sonic’s brother, part of the trio of triplet children beneath Queen Aleena. He travels with Sonic and Sonic across Mobius in the search for their mother, although for Manic there’s always time for a bit of thievery for the immoral hedgehog. Unlike the others who had luxurious or at least decent upbringings, Manic was snatched from the doorstep of the home Queen Aleena had left him at and brought up in a den of thieves. He has morals, but stealing and lying come second nature to the most world weary and upbeat of the three children. His instrument of choice is the drums through which he can shake the earth and fire the strongest beams, and he’s able to keep up with Sonic (almost) by riding a hover board which he’s an expert at.
