1. The best cover: Most of the covers this year were just okay. I think the one that stands out as number one is Sonic #136 (Spaz/Ribeiro)

2. The worst cover: As I said before, a lot of the covers were not too good but not awful. But please, Archie, stick with Spaz. Sonic #144 (Butler/Penders)

3. The best frontpiece: The frontspieces this year were mostly boring, but two stood out: 142 and 143. Placed at the begining of awful issues, these were functional, pretty, and formed a nice dichotomy. However, the coloring made me choose Sonic #143 (Axer)

4. The worst frontpiece: Spaz and Axer both pushed aside in the same issue? Sorry, Sonic #144 (Butler/Penders)

5. The best story arc: Home wasn't all that great, but it suggested that the comic could be something more. Return to Angel Island (Sonic #138-141): Bollers/Gray/Higgins, Pepoy, Amash, & Koslowski proved it.

6. The worst story arc: Knuckles: All Growed Up was pretty lame, but it picked up at the end and became mildly interesting. However, The Tommy Trilogy (Sonic #135-137): Chacon/Lim, Mawhinney, & Butler/Ribeiro, Pepoy, & Amah was downright infuriating.

7. The best main story: RTAI was great, and How Many Echidnas Does it Take to Protect a Master Emerald? (Sonic #140): Bollers was the best chapter.

8. The worst main story: The biggest letdown of the year was Agent of K.N.O.T.H.O.L.E. (Sonic #135): Chacon. I really wonder who thought it would be a good idea.

9. The best back-up story: Surprisingly, my hand hesitated before I chose this one. I saw Father's Day, and I thought "maybe... nah." It went to Love and Loss (Sonic #144): Chacon/Gray, but I won't give Romy credit for this one. This was all Dub.

10. The worst back-up story: It's really sad that Penders has to escape unscathed, but it has to be One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (Sonic #137): Chacon

11. The best art within a main story: It was almost Ultimate Hero, but I think Super Knuckles looks a little silly. How Many Echidnas Does it Take to Protect a Master Emerald? (Sonic #140): Gray/Pepoy

12. The worst art within a main story: After reading A.D.A.M. & Evil (Sonic #132): Manak/Higgins I was left thinking simply "what was that?"

13. The best art in a back-up story: Hands down, it was Love and Loss (Sonic #144): Gray/Higgins

14. The worst art in a back-up story: Finally, I nail 25yl on something: Father's Day (Sonic #143): Penders

15. The overall best issue: I think that Sonic #140 was awesome in too many ways to not get this.

16. The overall worst issue: Awful grammar, "Myles" Prower, and general editorial sloppiness helped make Sonic #136 my least favorite.

1. The best cover: The Spider-Man inspired 134

2. The worst cover: 144 It just looked odd, and being a M25YL cover didn't help.

3. The best frontpiece: 140, the one with the dingos ^_^

4. The worst frontpiece: 144 ;.; keep them to Axer only, please.

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island, dangit!

6. The worst story arc: Mobius 25 Years Later. Days of our lives, would have been a better title. I don't pay to see slumber parties and meanial conversations, if I wanted that I'd watch a Tarentino flick, at least those have SOME action.

7. The best main story: Sonic #134. Dub's intro issue had everything, pacing, story, great ending, great art. Best issue of the year.

8. The worst main story: Sonic #137. Bloody Romy and it's bloody Terminator/Tommy crap >.>

9. The best back-up story: Sonic #144. I admit it's 50/50 between Love and Loss and Fathers Day, but LaL is the ONLY one of those stories which adds anything to the ongoing story, and in a very mature and amazing manner.

10. The worst back-up story: Sonic #139. Who buys Sonic for a Slumber Party?!

11. The best art within a main story: Sonic #139. If that's the one with the Chaotix vs Dark Legion battle scene, then hell yeah! Dub's the master of doing group action shots sticking everything everywhere ^_^ Eye candy supreme

12. The worst art within a main story: Sonic #132. Probably because it was my first issue ever, the colouring was off or it just plain stunk.

13. The best art in a back-up story: Sonic #144. Though, again to be fair. I would have given this to one of Butler's issues had I actually bothered to care that M25YL exists.

14. The worst art in a back-up story: Sonic #136, Patience. Urk, Lim made Knuckles look naaaaaaaaaaasty.

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #134! Let's face it, there was no issue with a good front to match a good back. I'll make do with the best front story of the year.

16. The overall worst issue: 137 I didn't even bother to read, one look at the stories, art and a page worth of Romy BLATANTLY ignoring all continuity of other issues made me slam the pages in disgust.

19. The best conversation/dialogue: Say You Will's finale, some people hated it, Craigey LOVED it!

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: Adam and M come in this category, despite being revealed in November 2003, the idea of Eggman raising AI children is really interesting, and one I think should be explored a bit more. Afterall, this is the most human we've ever seen our dictator, all we know is that he's "evil" and nothing more. Hopefully his "children" will help us see what makes him tick, and of course we'll find out WHY he made robot children. Honourary mention to the mysterious Finitiveus, who looks cool, he's like Doctor Zachary from Fleetway, but with a cloak and some weird thing on his head, this is COOL also, thank Ash for closure! *Lays cookies before the awesome skater style mongoose manager who saved us all from soap opera stories*

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: They brought back Tommy. Dedicated 3 issues to him. I think that's a bad event/idea. Turning Lien-Da into a Dominatrix in the front stories and a soccer mum in the back was VERY stupid as well, it only serves to confuse and give more debate.

1. The best cover: #138. In honestly, when I look back, none of the covers are that great, but #138 is so far, the best looking one.

2. The worst cover: #135. It was very "eh."

3. The best frontpiece: #135. it has that Sonic #52 feel, which I like.

4. The worst frontpiece: #136, kinda plain

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island Arc, no question!

6. The worst story arc: While I am tempt to say the Tommy Turtle Arc, the M25YL takes the cake. It was a LOT worse then I thought. Kept dragging on and on and on!

7. The best main story: Say You Will. Powerful emotional stuff. Gotta love it.

8. The worst main story: Agent of K.N.O.T.H.O.L.E. #135 becaue it started the whole Tommy Turtle Trilogy. Ugh.

9. The best back-up story: Love and Loss #144 all the way. It dealt with something that SERIOUSLY needed to be dealt with, no matter how good Father's Day is as well.

10. The worst back-up story: A Difference of Opinion #140. Out of all the bad M25YL, I choose this a the flashback was cheaply done and used the easy way out to explain the whole M25YL story. It didn't help that Green Knuckles was used as the cheapline.

11. The best art within a main story: Say You Will #134
I loved Jon's artwork in later issues, but this is the one where he shines the best. It's not ascomplicated or as dizzying as the Angel Island Arc nor is it as simple as Love and Loss, it's just right.

12. The worst art within a main story: A.D.A.M. & Evil #132
I like Manak's artwork, but this one is a lazy, visual mess.

13. The best art in a back-up story: Anonymous #135
I personally loved how Art made Eggman have different poses.

14. The worst art in a back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! #137
Oh, man, the poses were so off and the BG was so plain.

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #134
Brilliant emotional story and when I still gave M25YL a chance (after that issue, I nolonger tolerated it).

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #136
Filled with Cheap Death galore.

17. The best single line: "Kneecaps the echidna!? Mom, that's GOT to be the worse name I've ever heard for a kid!" by Knuckles
I just cracked up. (Sonic #140)

18. The worst single line: "This is boss!" by Manic. I wasn't aware kids still say this... (Sonic #137)

19. The best conversation/dialogue:
Lara-Le: He seems to have taken a shine to you, Knuckles! (Kneecaps is reaching for Knuckles)
Knux: You don't really expect me to... (Lara-Le gives Kneecaps to Knuckles)
Knux: ... (Kneecaps is drooling on top of Knuckles head)
Lara-Le: Quite a shine! (She turns away)
Knux: He's going to give me brain damage! (Kneecaps is now hitting Knux in the head with a rattle)

20. The worst conversation/dialogue: The ENTIRE conversation between Cobar and Rotor in #142. Was confused at first (and second).

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: I suppose the only category is M and Adam. I see potential in them. all we need is to see if this potential will be used on how they will affect Eggman's life and most importantly, if the comic will reveal when made them and why. That and Dr. Finietivus. Who is he? I also wonder.

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: Bringing back Tommy. WORSE.MISTAKE.EVER. The dragging on of the M25YL plot is a close second.

1. The best cover: Sonic #138. The Chaotix looks good

2. The worst cover: Sonic #132. Something about the art just bugs me.

3. The best frontpiece: Not really sure. I only read the more recent comics at the store instead of buying them.

4. The worst frontpiece: See #3

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island. This arc was good just for little Mace alone.

6. The worst story arc: The Tommy Turtle trilogy. I just couldn't get into the story.

7. The best main story: Sonic #140, How Many Echidnas Does it Take to Protect a Master Emerald? Once again, Mace just makes this story.

8. The worst main story: Hard choice here. All of the Tommy trilogy was bad. But I'll say Sonic #143. The whole deal with that snake was too cliche.

9. The best back-up story: Sonic #132, I enjoyed the art not to mention we saw a grown up Mace.

10. The worst back-up story: Sonic #139 "Slumber Party," If I wanted to read about a slumber party, I'd get a Babysitter's Club book.

11. The best art within a main story: Sonic #138, Fight scenes are always good. Not to mention it's got the Chaotix to boot ^_^.

12. The worst art within a main story: Sonic #132, Tails looks like he's forty.

13. The best art in a back-up story: Sonic #132. Julie-Su's rarely looked so good.

14. The worst art in a back-up story: Sonic #139, Sally looks kind of anorexic.

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #140, If only for the interaction between Knuckles and Mace.

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #137, The art plus the story equals blah.

17. The best single line:
Knuckles: Between them and the D.L., it's a butt-kicking extravaganza, True Blue! (Sonic #140)

18. The worst single line:
Trey Scales (that snake FF): I'm a snake, it's in my nature. (Or something like that) (Sonic #143)

19. The best conversation/dialogue:
Lara-Le: His name is Knecapeon Mace...but we call him "Kneecaps" for short!
Mace: **annoyed**
Knuckles: Kneecaps the Echidna?! Mom that's got to be the worst name I've heard for a kid!
Mace: >_<
Sonic and Chaotix: *LOL*
Knuckles: (furiously) Is something funny?
Sonic and Chaotix: *shut up real quickly, Espio finding particular interest in his stars*
Lara-Le and Mace: :| (Sonic #140)

20. The worst conversation/dialogue: Can't think of one at the moment.

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: One word: Mace. He is so adorable and loves making Knuckles's life a living Hades.

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: Tommy. He offered nothing but another character.

1. The best cover: #134 (Spaz/Ribiero). They weren't a lot of strong contenders in this category, which is why something inspired by Spiderman ended up as the most original/provocative.

2. The worst cover: #132 (Spaz/Ribeiro). Ugh! It was so shiny, I felt like I needed sunglasses just to look at it.

3. The best frontpiece: #139 (Axer). Two superbly drawn Legionnaires. The details on the uncloaked one look especially polished, and I adore the bubbles.

4. The worst frontpiece: #144 (Butler/Penders). The broken glass effect was too cliche for my taste.

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island (#138-141): Bollers/Gray/Higgins, Pepoy, Amash, & Koslowski. Awesome art, renewed purpose for an old villain (Hunter), emotional script, and a fiendish plot twist. Who could ask for anything more?

6. The worst story arc: The Tommy Trilogy (#135-137): Chacon/Lim, Mawhinney, & Butler/Ribeiro, Pepoy, & Amash. Not one but TWO death cheats, didn't quite mesh with continuity, and poor Tails got sidelined during the big fight scene.

7. The best main story: The Ultimate Hero (#141) Bollers. The return of Knux's powers, Eggman's suprise scheme, and the family conflicts between Locke/Knux and Lien-Da/Julie-Su made for a powerful conclusion to one of the best arcs in Archie Sonic history.

8. The worst main story: The Infiltrator (#136): Chacon. Yet another death cheat by Chacon. This one had the added bonuses of grammatical errors, impropable plot devices, and an emotional fragile wife.

9. The best back-up story: Love and Loss (#144): Chacon/Gray. Only Dub could turn an idea of Romy's into something worthwhile.

10. The worst back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (#137): Chacon. Even after reading The Tommy Trilogy, I was unprepared for this load of garbage.

11. The best art within a main story: How Many Echidnas Does it Take to Protect a Master Emerald? (#140): Gray/Higgins. Mace's thought bubbles crack me up every time.

12. The worst art within a main story: A.D.A.M. & Evil (Sonic #132): Manak/Higgins. Amy's hammer looks nothing like it does in the game, Rouge resembles an extra from Gargoyles, and General D'Coolette seems constipated in every frame.

13. The best art in a back-up story: Love and Loss (#144): Gray/Higgins. Pretty soon, I'm going to start calling these awards the Dubs. Seriously though, his work took my breath away in this issue. The panel layout flowed smoothly and the characters emotions, while not lacking sublety, weren't over-the-top, they were just right.

14. The worst art in a back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (#137): Bigley/Higgins. Bunnie's hairdo was inconsistent with the time frame the story supposedly took place in, Antoine was out of proportion, and Sonic looked like a bug-eyed zombie.

15. The overall best issue: #134. Best cover of the year, the first official appearance of Dub's art, loads of potential character devolpment, and one of the most memorable scenes in Sonic history: Sally's Smack!

16. The overall worst issue: #137. Not only does Tommy become a regular in Knothole starting with issue, but Romy messes with the backstory of favorite non-SEGA character. She WILL pay.

17. The best single line: Lien-Da: Father loved you more. (Sonic #141)

18. The worst single line: Scales: Because Dr. Robotnik gave me power and control. Besides, I'm a snake. It's totally within my nature. (Sonic #143)

19. The best conversation/dialogue: From Sonic #138
Sonic: I say we "Do it to it"!
Ray: Do... what...? (confused looks on Knux & Chaotix faces)
Sonic: *sigh*

20. The worst conversation/dialogue: From Sonic #132
A.D.A.M.: I do not know. Why would a domesticated farm fowl traverse a public pathway?
Tails: To get to the other side!
A.D.A.M.: Interesting. That would be the chicken's base motivation.

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: The Knothole News Photographer. Knuckles regains his Chaos powers. Tighter continuity.

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: Tatiana. Tommy's Death Cheats. Mobius: 25 Years Lamer.

1. The best cover: I thought issue 133's cover was the best!

2. The worst cover: Definately 132's cover. It looked a little rushed to me.

3. The best frontpiece: I thought Axer's piece in 133 was da' BOMB!

4. The worst frontpiece: the one in issue 144. I thought that was a poor waste of space after being mystified by Axer's work befor this ish.

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island (Sonic #138-141): Bollers/Gray/Higgins. Ther are no words to sum up how awesome this story arc was!

6. The worst story arc: The Original Freedom Fighters (Sonic #142-143): Chacon/Mawhinney/Amash. Many people say Tommy Turtule's was the worst, but I thought The Original Freedom Fighters was more useless than good ol' Tommy!

7. The best main story: How Many Echidnas Does it Take to Protect a Master Emerald? (Sonic #140): Bollers. To me I thought this part was a masterpiece! Bollers really showed his talent in this one!

8. The worst main story: The Original Freedom Fighters, Part 2 (Sonic #143): Chacon. All I've got to say is UGH!

9. The best back-up story: Love and Loss (Sonic #144): Chacon/Gray. I thought it was the best out of the rest considering that I didn't like many of the back stories

10. The worst back-up story: The Unveiling (Sonic #132): Penders One of the most useless stories thus far!

11. The best art within a main story: How Many Echidnas Does it Take to Protect a Master Emerald? (Sonic #140): Gray/Higgins Dub shows off his artistic skills in this one!

12. The worst art within a main story: A.D.A.M. & Evil (Sonic #132): Manak/Higgins. Always disliked Manak's style always will!

13. The best art in a back-up story: Midnight in the Garden (Sonic #133): Butler/Penders. By far the best that Steven had in the MB:25YL series

14. The worst art in a back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (Sonic #137): Bigley/Higgins. I just wasn't into this art!

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #134. it was a break from the action of the series!

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #143. Just horrible!

1. The best cover: Sonic #132 (Spaz/Ribeiro)
I just really like the emotions that this cover brings up in me.

2. The worst cover: Sonic #139 (Spaz)
ugh...so much cluter

3. The best frontpiece: Sonic #132 (Axer)
it's fun!

4. The worst frontpiece: Sonic #144 (Butler/Penders)
just really has nothing to offer

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island (Sonic #138-141): Bollers/Gray/Higgins, Pepoy, Amash, & Koslowski
Dub plus some much needed direction.

6. The worst story arc: Mobius 25 Years Later (Sonic #131-144): Penders/Butler & Penders/Penders & Amash
just doesn't live up to potential.

7. The best main story: Say You Will (Sonic #134): Bollers
this is just one of those stories you know the fandom will be hinging on for years.

8. The worst main story: The Infiltrator (Sonic #136): Chacon
every ring is not the Ring of Acorns

9. The best back-up story: Father's Day (Sonic #143): Penders
I almost wanted to go with love and loss, but this was a return towards Penders' best.

10. The worst back-up story: Slumber Party (Sonic #139): Penders
ignores the point and interupts the story-flow.

11. The best art within a main story: A.D.A.M. & Evil (Sonic #132): Manak/Higgins
seeing as most of you will be voting for Jon, I thought I'd be different and go for the nostalgia factor.

12. The worst art within a main story: Agent of K.N.O.T.H.O.L.E. (Sonic #135): Lim/Ribeiro
I've never liked Lim

13. The best art in a back-up story: Love and Loss (Sonic #144): Gray/Higgins
Dub deserves at least one vote from me!

14. The worst art in a back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (Sonic #137): Bigley/Higgins
the chronological mistakes just took the cake.

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #134
it made an impact, it futhered the story. you loved to hate the events.

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #136
it had no impact, it did not further the story, accept fot Sonic's last line which came out of nowhere.

17. The best single line: "Well, stop caring!" -Princess Sally, Issue 138, story one, page two panel three.

18. The worst single line: "Hold on, Unc. Season 17? But that would mean that... Tommy's alive! -Sonic the Hedgehog, Issue 136, story one, page eleven, panel seven

19. The best conversation/dialogue: Sonic and Sally's fight, Issue 134, story one, pages seventeen to nineteen.

20. The worst conversation/dialogue:
"My name is Hog... Hedgehog, Agent of K.N.O.T.H.O.L.E. What's your code name?"
"I have none. It's just Tommy"
-Sonic and Tommy's introduction in issue 135, story one, page four, panel four.

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: The supreme dissolvement of the FF. It been like this for some time, but now it's official. this means all the junk between each of the old friends.

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: Bringing back Tommy, screwing with what ring does what when (all that Rommy stuff), M:25YL, the slumber party at the end of the world.

1. The best cover: Sonic #137 (Spaz)
The coloring on the SwatBots is pretty cool, and I like the contrast between them and the SA style FF. The suggestion of Tommy's death doesn't hurt, either! :)

2. The worst cover: Sonic #135 (Spaz/Ribeiro)
Even before I knew it was Tommy (when did he wear a cloak, any way?!), I didn't like it. In a series like Sonic, a character returning to life is never a good thing.

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island (Sonic #138-141): Bollers/Gray/Higgins, Pepoy, Amash, & Koslowski
It didn't really blow me away, but the art was quite good, and there weren't any flaws in the story. With what we've been dealing with in the comic recently, that's good enough for me.

6. The worst story arc: The Tommy Trilogy (Sonic #135-137): Chacon/Lim, Mawhinney, & Butler/Ribeiro, Pepoy, & Amash
Need I say more?

7. The best main story: Say You Will (Sonic #134): Bollers
The ending was a bit over-the-top, but up to that, it was great. Cool WB art, a strong (if not completely flawless) story, and lots of neat little details.

8. The worst main story: Agent of K.N.O.T.H.O.L.E. (Sonic #135): Chacon
Death cheats, continuity glitches, and bad art, oh my!

9. The best back-up story: The Unveiling (Sonic #132): Penders
Back when M25YL was still new and exiting, and we didn't know that the funky lightning was all we'd see of the "strange weather"...

10. The worst back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (Sonic #137): Chacon
A otherwise mediocre and forgettable story was made into a monster by the stumbling around of a new artist.

11. The best art within a main story: Robo-Dyne Systems (Sonic #137): Butler/Amash
The one good thing about the Tommy Trillogy.

12. The worst art within a main story: Agent of K.N.O.T.H.O.L.E. (Sonic #135): Lim/Ribeiro
One of Lim's better jobs. Which isn't saying much.

13. The best art in a back-up story: Love and Loss (Sonic #144): Gray/Higgins

14. The worst art in a back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (Sonic #137): Bigley/Higgins

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #139
In addition to my favorite of the "Return to Angel Island" chapters, this features "Slumber Party" -- one of those stories totally unnecessary to M25YL, but not too bad on their own.

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #135
"Death cheats, continuity glitches, and bad art, oh my!" times two.

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: Knuckles as "The Avatar" (or is he?). He had a hard enough time dealing with the respect given him as Guardian -- it's hilarious seeing him try to deal with being worshiped. And it gives the Dark Legion and the other Echidnas something else to fight about besides technology.

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: The "Original Freedom Fighters". Unnecessary, badly named, badly designed, and the story about them wasn't even that good.

1. The best cover: Sonic #137 (Spaz)

2. The worst cover: Sonic #135 (Spaz/Ribeiro)

3. The best frontpiece: Sonic #138 (Axer)

4. The worst frontpiece: Sonic #139 (Axer)

5. The best story arc: Home (Sonic #130-134): Bollers/Butler,Lim,Manak, & Gray/Amash & Higgins

6. The worst story arc: The Tommy Trilogy (Sonic #135-137): Chacon/Lim, Mawhinney, & Butler/Ribeiro, Pepoy, & Amash

7. The best main story: Ultimate Hero (Sonic #141): Bollers

8. The worst main story: The Infiltrator (Sonic #136): Chacon

9. The best back-up story: Scenario (Sonic #141): Penders

10. The worst back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (Sonic #137): Chacon

11. The best art within a main story: Finale (Sonic #133): Butler/Amash

12. The worst art within a main story: Agent of K.N.O.T.H.O.L.E. (Sonic #135): Lim/Ribeiro

13. The best art in a back-up story: Patience (Sonic #136): Lim/Ribeiro

14. The worst art in a back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! (Sonic #137): Bigley/Higgins

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #140

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #136

17. The best single line: Sonic # 134- Muttski: "Hello, Sonic Friend!"

18. The worst single line: Sonic # 136- Sonic: "No" (you gotta include the "!")

19. The best conversation/dialogue: Sonic # 140
-Lara-Le: "His name is 'Knecapeon Mace', but we call him 'Kneecaps' for short!
-Knuckles: "'Kneecaps the Echidna?!'"

20. The worst conversation/dialogue: Sonic # 143:
-Scales: "No! We had a deal!"
-Julian/Robotnik: "True, but how could I trust you? You did just say you were a snake. Nature and all that, remember?"

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: A.D.A.M. and M/Mecha

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: Unveiling

1. The best cover: Sonic #140 (Spaz). Green Ambience of a Chaos Emerald always draws me into an issue. I really just like the style of the emeralds layered in between the Sonic and Knux poses and Locke’s overshadowing future

2. The worst cover: Sonic #142 (Spaz/Butler/Amash) ..WTF was that? That’s just…hideous. Sir Peckers….The snake….XD Yeah and Sonic and Hope chibi form. Odd.

3. The best frontpiece: Sonic #133 (Axer) . This frontpiece was the best. High energy, really great penciling. Really like it.

4. The worst frontpiece: Sonic #142 (Axer). I’m just not liking the cutesy feel of Sonic and pals >>

5. The best story arc: Home (Sonic #130-134): Bollers/Butler,Lim,Manak, & Gray/Amash & Higgins. RTAI was awesome, but Home is great. Home basically revived the series for me, and so I love it.

6. The worst story arc: The Tommy Trilogy (Sonic #135-137): Chacon/Lim, Mawhinney, & Butler/Ribeiro, Pepoy, & Amah >< TOMMY DIE. No in truth, I was just really put off by this Trilogy. No magic whatsoever in it.

7. The best main story: Ultimate Hero (Sonic #141): Bollers . Can’t beat Super Knux.

8. The worst main story: The Original Freedom Fighters, Part 2 (Sonic #143): Chacon <-- UGH. Painful to read. Just painful.

9. The best back-up story: Love and Loss (Sonic #144): Chacon/Gray Im going to have to give it to this one. This was a great issue, and yeah seeing the reworking Gray has done for it, I appreciate it that much more.

10. The worst back-up story: Slumber Party (Sonic #139): Penders <---UGH! UGH UGH UGH WHAT WAS DONE?!?!?

11. The best art within a main story: The Message (Sonic #138): Gray/Higgins. Awesome artwork, the scenes were quite fun to look at.

12. The worst art within a main story: The Die is Cast (Sonic #144): Butler/Amash. Hrm. Bad. I really wasn’t pleased with the artwork.

13. The best art in a back-up story: I Wanna Be a Freedom Fighter (Sonic #142): Butler/Amash : Odd ly enough, I choose this one. Good concrete drawings of Amy and Sally, Especially that panel where Amy points out her Piko Piko hammer, and Sally gives her a silent stare. Awesome art there.

14. The worst art in a back-up story: Father's Day (Sonic #143): Penders <-- Hrm. Well none of the backup art is bad, but I wasn’t really feeling Fathers Day.

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #141-Yeap. 141 did it for me.

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #143 -Just messes up that Timeline I was making. Hard to add them into it its all weird.

17. The best single line: Is 138: Sonic “I mean Sure, he can’t Glide Anymore, he’s a weak as a Kitten and pretty much good for nothing, but still”

18. The worst single line: Is 138: Vector: “Is it just me or did somebody just crank the smoke machine up to eleven?”

19. The best conversation/dialogue: Is 139, the conversation between Kommissar, Knux and Sonic, pertaining to the trading of Emerald guardianship and how Knux was not an avatar to those people.

20. The worst conversation/dialogue: Is 135, The whole conversation between A.D.A.M and Robotnik and the concept of reroboticization {It’s Mogul.}

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: Best new characters? Hrm, I’m going to have to say Finetivus from the RTAI arc. He was great-although odd. Best event was RTAI-and by far, the best idea in the comic was the usage of a tachyon time travel device to travel through time {When we all know tachyon technology forces matter from one point in time to another point-but makes that point inherently inactive forever due to the spot now being a inversion of quantum time entropy…I’ll shush now :O}

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: Tommy >< He is really a waste of space. I mean he’s there to create problems for the Freedom fighters, as they are not a mesh unit as much anymore-so it also show teen to adult mental changes and opinions. That’s why I no like Tommy. He just…adds to it ><
Worst new event, M25YL >>. Only because now they’ll go back in time {Lara Su} and somehow suppress the quantum dial and then we’ll see the future WITH Sonic there for that one year.

1. The best cover: Sonic #138; despite the recycled poses, I loved the atmosphere on the cover and even the "Return to Angel Island" text image.

2. The worst cover: Sonic #139; this was the most cluttered cover with seemingly no rhyme or reason behind it and Sonic #133 is a very close runner-up.

3. The best frontpiece: This was a difficult choice as Axer pieces from Sonic #138-#143 were heads and shoulders above all the other frontpieces for the year. However, in the end, I give it to Sonic #141 featuring Lien-Da. I would have given it to #138, but Julie-Su was cut-off, which hurt the overall picture.

4. The worst frontpiece: Sonic #132 gets this because I didn't like Sonic's pose in this one and in comparison to all the other frontpieces for the year, the theme with Sonic being correctly colored while all the other characters are in some shaded color was extremely dull.

5. The best story arc: Return to Angel Island by far.

6. The worst story arc: The Tommy Turtle Trilogy for containing a horribly explained death cheat (oh, wait, it wasn't explained at ALL), destroying my love of Sonic #117, and adding another unnecessary character to the cast--how about using the hundreds of characters we already have :p

7. The best main story: Sonic #134 though every issue in Return to Angel Island could've been chosen as well; however, Sonic #134 was one of those special issues that you just don't stop talking about for all the right reasons

8. The worst main story: Sonic #135 gets it just over Sonic #136 due to the corny lines contained within it and at least Sonic #136 had Jules attempting to save Sonic, so I gave it a mini-pass.

9. The best back-up story: One Part Ooh-la-la, and Two Parts Treachery! from Sonic #137 by Romy Chacon; I choose this over Love & Loss because it made me feel for Antoine in a believable way unlike the whole "every female in Knothole reads the Dear Aly column"-aspect, which is the only thing that bothered me about Love & Loss.

10. The worst back-up story: Slumber Party in Sonic #139 gets it from me as this was the story that killed any chance of me appreciating M:25YL at all. After this story, I just couldn't care about it anymore other than hoping this storyline would disappear and never come back as everyone was reduced to be worse than the current slew of adults--King Max, Queen Alicia, Lara-Le, Locke, etc.--and it lacked any action.

11. The best art within a main story: It was really hard, but I'm going with Butler in Sonic #137 just barely over his art in Sonic #133 due mainly to the fact that his rendition of Shadow wasn't that great in #133. Also, I loved the minor details within scenes in #137 just a little more (though #133 had them too).

12. The worst art within a main story: Sonic #132, no contest. The art for Off-Panel is usually the worst art in every comic so it should be no surprise that when the artist for Off-Panel does a story that the art is the worst in comparison to all the other pencilers on the comic.

13. The best art in a back-up story: I felt Butler was at his best with I Wanna Be a Freedom Fighter in Sonic #142, particularly with the nice view of Sally from a different perspective and making distinct differences between both Sally & Amy in the past versus the present.

14. The worst art in a back-up story: I choose Lim in Patience in Sonic #136 because I am extremely annoyed with the way Lim draws Knuckles' eyes and he isn't new to the comic.

15. The overall best issue: Sonic #138, as it continued the events in Sonic #134, it was a great set-up for the rest of Return to Angel Island AND this was the issue that gave me great hopes for M:25YL (only to have them dashed in the next issue).

16. The overall worst issue: Sonic #136 as the only story that didn't make me want to toss the issue in the trash was Patience and that happened to be drawn by Lim.

17. The best single line: "But Julie-Su, you don't have a problem with Knuckles going into battle the way Sally does with me, do you? I mean, sure, he can't glide anymore, he's as weak as a kitten and pretty much good for nothing, but still..." -Sonic in Sonic #138; the fact that Sonic managed to say all that while only getting the "if looks could kill"-glare from Knuckles is proof that Knuckles has gotten a lot of self-control

18. The worst single line: "You ruined my makeup." -Mecha in Sonic #133

19. The best conversation/dialogue: Knuckles and Lara-Le's convo concerning Kneecapeon Mace's name in Sonic #140. I give special mention to Mecha and Sonic at the end of Sonic #132 and pretty much all of the convos between Sonic/Knuckles and Sonic/Sally within Sonic #138.

20. The worst conversation/dialogue: Not counting all of Slumber Party in Sonic #139, Julie-Su/Knuckles in The Die is Cast in Sonic #144 (epitomizing my main problems with the characterization of Julie in M:25YL), and Sonic/Uncle Chuck in Sonic #136, the worst convo award goes to Sonic/Tommy in Sonic #135 when they meet in code.

21. The best new characters, events, and/or ideas: Kneecapeon Mace is by far the best character introduced this year. He's going to be a great source of comedy relief. Making the Dark Legion the "heroes" of Angel Island was a nice touch, as well as putting the status of Dimitri and the Brotherhood up in the air. The return of Charmy to the main Chaotix full-time due to the loss of his family/people was great, particularly due to the whole scheming aspect of it that makes it seem like they're all dead (as well as Remington) when they really aren't. Splitting the royal family up in a way that gives Sally a leadership role despite the "no fighting" restriction she's on is also something I really liked--the defining of roles for the Freedom Fighters (fighters, tech, etc.) was cool as well.

22. The worst new characters, events, and/or ideas: Tommy--'nuff said. The way M:25YL dragged on, especially with the way Julie-Su/Sally did absolutely nothing within it other than "look pretty" among so many other problems too numerous to mention.
