Summary
US Title: no title yet

The episodes starts with a quick recap of everyone leaving and then of Chris saying his goodbyes and shutting down the gateway with Sonic almost going home.

Chris runs over and grabs Sonic running away from everyone else into the forest. He runs as fast as he can ignoring Sonic's calls but Sonic races in front and starts leading. Chuck hopes that Chris comes to his senses as Topaz and Tanaka say they cannot find Chris. Chuck explains that they do not have much more time before they have merged the planets.

Early the next day Chris and Sonic are quietly walking through the city wondering what they can do. Chris finds a bike and pedals off with Sonic resting on the back. In the town the boy sees his old bike is taken but isn't concerned. Chris asks Sonic how far he wants to go and Sonic replies as far as he wants. Chris tries pedaling as hard as he can and eventually tires out as the small dinner. Chris asks Sonic if he wants to go anywhere and Sonic says he has gone everywhere.

Chris tries to plan their journey saying the beach is out of the question. The owner of the diner turns on the TV and sees a news report about him and Sonic with his mother crying. The two of them take off again with Sonic saying they are worried, but he wonders why they aren't worried when he really needs them. The two continue down the road as his father's helicopter comes into view. Sonic asks Chris if he's given up and Chris says no. Sonic gets a pick-up truck to stop and the man gives them a lift. Sonic rests in the hay in the back while Chris sits quietly in the cap watching the scenery go by.

At a forest Chris and Sonic hop off and head down a trail slowly looking at all the scenery. After reaching the top of a hill the two of them start down some tracks. Sonic thinks he may have run past the place at one time or another after Chris asked him if he's seen this place. Chris worries that Sonic will forget him later on. Sonic says he forgets a lot, but he won't forget Chris, especially since he's gotten him into so much trouble. The two of them start down the tracks again stopping on a random bench. Chris says they could hide out for a long time thinking that even his family will stop looking for them eventually.

The come across a stream and Chris tries climbing up a waterfall, but as he can't reach a spot Sonic jumps up and gives him a hand. The two of them continue on their hike with Chris getting a little tired he looks at Sonic and then runs ahead up a hill. Chris trips and as Sonic tries to lend a hand Chris gets up by himself and climbs to the stop of the hill overlooking a huge lake. Sonic says he's never been there before and wonders how Chris knew about it.

Back at the house Nelson tells his company to use every man to find his son no matter how much it costs. The two of them try to buy things hopping it will bring Chris back. Chuck comes in and tells them that Chris won't come home until they realize that they need to be together as a family. Chuck says that Chris wants to be found by his mother and father and no one else.

Back at the lake Chris explains that as a little kid they use to come there all the time. He says one year they just stopped coming saying they were too busy. Sonic breaks the lock on the cabin and the two of them have a small campfire and as Chris goes to trip Sonic catches him and asks if he needs help. Chris refuses it and later on he wonders why Sonic hasn't said anything about not allowing him to go home. Sonic says he was waiting to see what he had to say, Chris asks why Sonic came along and if he's going to stay. Sonic says it's up to him and Chris asks if he wants Sonic to stay forever will he. Sonic replies that he'll do whatever Chris asks explaining that Chris saved him when he first came here. Chris gets thinking that Sonic had to be his friend because Sonic felt like owed Chris. Sonic says it is not like that saying that he is really is his friend saying that he'll stay there if Chris wants him to.

Chris says that he'll be happier if Sonic stayed here, but tells Sonic not to stay if he's not happy. Sonic explains that as long as he can run he'll be happy. Chris says that letting Sonic stay here would be wrong trying to keep him in this world and Chris says he wasn't ready to say goodbye saying he let Sonic down and begs his forgiveness. Sonic confronts Chris with Chris replying that once he's gone he will be along again like he was when he was a kid. Sonic thinks that their worlds were meant to come together and that they will see each other someday. Sonic says whenever they are alone they can look at the moon.

Meanwhile Chris' parents are running through the forest towards the log cabin they come in and find the fire burned out and Chris standing alone on the dock staring at the moon, he turns around and smiles.
