Summary
US Title: no title yet
The episode starts on Chris' boat deciding to celebrate the New Year by watching the first sunrise. Cream worries that if they make too much noise they will scare the sun away, Vanilla and Chris assure her that things will be okay. Chris looks around for Sonic and looks up to spot Sonic sitting on the mast watching the sky.
Elsewhere on an island Topaz is busying talking with Rouge as she relaxes on the beach. Rouge meanwhile is in the president's office sitting in his chair as Topaz tells her that her social life is dull. Tanaka times the sun and as it rises they celebrate the New Year. However in space the moon suddenly moves towards the sun blocking the light in a solar eclipse, but it isn't suppose to be like that. The president is contacting and informed on the artificial eclipse. Just then Eggman barges into the office and the officers surround Eggman with guns drawn. Eggman tells the president that the egg moon has moved into orbit on mistake by a solar storm. The president doesn't believe him and Eggman tells him that he has a plan to get the light back. The president decides to agree giving the president one chance to get the light back.
At a press conference the two of them shake hands as Topaz watches this she says her vacation has been cut short and Rouge loves it saying her night life will be great. Cream is upset thinking they scared the sun away. Her mom says it should go away soon but Sonic stands thinking. At the press conference Eggman tells the public that it is currently impossible to move the egg moon and that it will take time to correct the situation. The reporters obviously upset say that without light the planet will freeze and Eggman informs that he has invented an artificial sunlight.
At a launch base Bokkun appears next to Decoe and Becoe giving a message that Eggman has faith in them, but if they mess up this time he will dismantle them piece by piece. Another rocket is launched into space, this time it deploys a small satellite that goes between the moon and the sun. As it deploys a large shield that orbits the earth it captures the suns rays and beams a beam down to the planet which it hits a tower that beings to charge. People meanwhile are watching the events on TV as back at Chuck's lab everyone is watching the television with the news giving thanks to Eggman for getting ready to bring light to them.
As the commercial comes on it shows an ad for an Eggman shopping network where Eggman offers the public a chance to buy a device that will allow them sunlight whenever they want. The phones go off the hook with orders, but Sonic and the others think a sunshine ball will be handy. Hearing this Sonic gets up and takes off with Tails telling them that he doesn't trust Eggman, Amy and Tails think Eggman is telling the truth, but Chris isn't sure. Meanwhile Sonic is quickly running through the desert.
At a house Decoe and Becoe install one of the balls and turn it on as it casts a near-perfect glow on the house. Knuckles is watching overhead and Knuckles figures that they have no choice but to trust Eggman at the moment. The city has already been lit up with the sunshine balls as the two robots feel it's good to be helping people.
Back in the city there are already protests over people not having sunshine balls and the ex-aid demands that things be sped up as the official tries to calm people but the west side people say they will steal the sunshine balls from the east. In a senate meeting people are arguing over who will get the sunshine balls first.
Bokkun is busy answering phones as Eggman calls the president needing more land to build more mirror towers, the president instantly agrees. The people on the west side have already crowded around one tower and the president informs Eggman that he is now a hero. Eggman figures he can use this to get dirty work done. Sonic has appeared by the towers and using his speed begins to destroy them one-by-one. With even one tower down the entire Station Square goes dark.
In the lab they watch the news as Eggman informs that one of the towers has collapsed and it overloaded the circuits. Eggman is unsure of why they collapsed, but Chris figures that it was Sonic who did it. The president is watching footage as Sonic is shown having destroyed the tower. The aid figures that something is wrong, but Rouge figures that Sonic knocked it down in jealousy. She convinces everyone that the tape must be released and they get word that Sonic has destroyed another tower. The media is informed of Sonic's destruction of the tower.
His friends feel that it was a mistake as a mob has formed outside Chris' house demanding for Sonic. Tails thinks Sonic did it out of spite, but Chris says Sonic must have had a good reason. Amy goes to try and stop people from breaking in but Chuck stops her because he doesn't want violence. Suddenly the whole front yard stops in a fight. A police force has gathered around the tower, but they know they cannot stop Sonic as he races in and destroys more towers. Decoe and Becoe arrive and show a TV displaying a new show "Eggman X" and Eggman says to join in next week when he takes down Sonic. |
