Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Released on "Hedgehog Day," February 2, 1994, Sonic 3 introduced Knuckles and refined the gameplay of the Sonic series by giving different abilities to different characters. Those who used the Level Select / Debug code discovered music and zone names that weren't used in the main game, as well as inaccessible areas in some acts.
